My last offering might be a little left field compared to what you have read so far, but if you are a lover of a mighty fine burger (what Aussie isn’t)? then you are going to fall hard for Hello Harry.

Franchise owner Shane Bryant’s previous life had him touring war torn regions like Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan as part of a private security team and after years of living on the edge Shane was looking for something to inspire a new beginning, a fresh look at life. A few opportunities arose but just didn’t click, until he got a taste of Hello Harry.

Now Shane is the new kid on the block here in ‘The Gong’ and he has taken it on with absolute enthusiasm and passion.

Not to be confused with those joints that serve you up frozen meat patties with a little salad and some tomato sauce, Hello Harry is my burger joint dream come true. Fresh-as-fresh produce including Grade-A grassfed burger patties slapped together fresh on the premises.

A superb range of burger options appealing to all, including a not so standard Aussie burger, the Louisiana pulled pork burger, a crumbed Queensland barramundi burger, a Texan brisket, a crispy pork belly, a slow cooked lamb burger, even a Middle Eastern chickpea burger.

Add to this some scrumptious sides like Sweet Potato fries and crunchy Onion rings and it’s all going on.

Hello Harry has a really cool vibe too with live and local music Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A bar that offers more beverage choices than the average burger joint, including a terrific medley of beers on tap, a good selection of wines and super shakes for the young ones. Hello Harry also has a challenge for those that think they are mightier than the burger, pop in and see if you have what it takes!

Wollongong is certainly coming to the fore when it comes to food choices and these few examples are just a small taste of what’s on offer. So, I suggest on your next holiday to Sydney you set a couple of days aside for a short drive down to ‘The Gong’ and sample what’s on offer.
